Here are several brief items of note about agriculture in the Puget Sound region:
Tilth Alliance grants available for farmers recovering from December’s floods
Tilth Alliance opened grant applications Jan. 30 for farmers who were impacted by floods that were cause by December’s atmospheric rivers. Eligible farms need to be in one of the 14 disaster-declared counties. Grant awards can be up to $10,000 and are available to assist with recovery efforts ranging from equipment repairs to financial losses from relocation. If a farm is outside the impacted counties, reach out to Tilth Alliance for consideration.

Tilth Alliance’s organic and sustainable farming fund deadline is extended
Tilth Alliance’s Washington State Organic & Sustainable Farming Fund deadline has been extended to Monday, Feb. 23.
The grants fund work in areas like soil health improvements, crop diversification, habitat preservation, climate mitigation, and more.
Three funding levels are available:
· Individual farm business project grants up to $15,000.
· Collaborative projects – two farm businesses work together and can request up to $20,000. Collaborative projects benefiting three or more farm businesses can request up to $25,000.
