New grant deadline prompts effort to find interim home for Snohomish County's proposed Food and Farm Center

A grant deadline change is forcing Snohomish County to find a temporary home for its proposed Food and Farm Center, which is planned to be built at McCollum Park in south Everett. The center help farmers in the region process and sell their crops.

Snohomish County has until Dec. 31, 2026 to buy and install equipment for a food processing center, warehouse space and a commercial kitchen to comply with a new deadline. for a $2.68 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Regional Food Systems Infrastructure Grant. The original deadline for the grant was May 2027.
