Open houses available to learn about Snohomish County’s proposed Food and Farm Center
First scheduled for October 9 at Northwest Stream Center. Second scheduled for October 11 at Willis Tucker Park Administration Building.
Snohomish County is holding two open houses to educate about a proposed Food and Farm Center:
• 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, Northwest Stream Center, 600 128th St., Everett. Presentation takes place at 5:30 p.m.
• 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 11, Willis Tucker Park Administration Building, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish. Presentation takes place at 10 a.m.
The proposed food and farm center will be a resource for farmers in Snohomish, Whatcom, Skagit, and King counties, according to information from Snohomish County. The center will provide infrastructure for the processing and distribution of locally produced agricultural products. The facility will include a commercial kitchen and an indoor farmers market, according to information from Snohomish County.
The proposed center will be located at McCollum Park on 128th Street in Everett and the project is going through the environmental review process. Snohomish County is looking for funding including grants.
