“Whether you’re growing food for your local community or feeding far-flung thousands; whether you’re advocating for policy change or developing new markets – this collaborative conference will create space for all who care about the future of food and farming in Washington,” said Kevin McAleese, communications manager for Tilth Alliance in an email.
The four-day conference offers educational workshops and panels, keynote speakers and a farm walk and networking opportunities.
Keynote speakers include Vivian Kaloxilos from Docterre, Todd Harrington from Harrington’s Organic Land Care, Valerie Segrist from Native Plants and Foods Institute and James Cassidy from Oregon State University.
A farm walk takes place Nov. 15 that includes tours of three farms – Scale House Market, Vets on the Farm, and Casa Cano Farms.
The symposium offers a chance to connect with farmers, educators and advocates while enjoying social events, shared meals and other gatherings.
“This is a rare and timely gathering where voices across industries, geographies and roles will come together to forge solutions and spark partnerships that will contribute to a resilient and vibrant food system in Washington,” McAleese said.
Early bird registration goes until Oct. 1 and registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 28. For more information and to buy tickets, go to www.tilthconference.org.
