SEATTLE – In a show of culinary “souphistication,” four chefs at the Ballard Farmers Market competed in a contest that raised money to help farmers recover from damage caused by December’s floods.

The latest chapter of the annual “Battle of the Soups” took place Feb. 22 during a rain-soaked Sunday at the year-round farmers market. Chefs from Geni’s Ethiopian Corner, BLK Pepper Catering, Cardoon, and PIDGIN Cooperative competed in the third round of the winter-long competition.
