Nate's notes — Farm conference tickets discounted, celebrations near, and more
Here are several items of note about agriculture in the Puget Sound region:
Focus on Farming offers discounted tickets until Oct. 1
The annual Snohomish County Focus on Farming and Forestry conference takes place a 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Evergreen State Fair Park in Monroe.
Tickets cost $55 until Oct. 1. After that, the price increases to $75. Tickets at the door on the day of the conference cost $89. Tickets provide access to 24 breakout sessions, two keynote speakers, a pastry breakfast and a lunch.
Keynote speakers are Ben Hartman of Claybottom Farms, based in Indiana, and Kaitlyn Thornton. Also known as Apple Girl Kait, she creates agriculture-focused content and has more than 650,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok.

Washington Farmland Trust hosts Love the Land celebration
Washington Farmland Trust is hosting its seventh-annual “Love the Land” celebration of local farms. Taking place from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4 at Carnation Farms, the event features delicious bites be De La Soil, grazing boards from Carnation Farms, and libations from Aslan Brewing, Winebow, Finnriver Farm and Cidery, and Tony’s Coffee. Mallard Ice Cream and Metropolitan Market are providing special treats.
