Not pursuing a church on Snohomish County farmland
Pastor of the Pursuit Northwest, which has a church in Snohomish, argues county’s A-10 agriculture zoning violates federal law.
In late 2025, Pastor Russell Johnson of Pursuit Church in Snohomish, emailed the county saying he was exploring property acquisition in unincorporated Snohomish County for the purpose of establishing a permanent house of worship.
In the same email he also argued that the county’s agriculture A-10 zoning violates the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000.
Two public meetings took place that included discussions about religious buildings on farmland and a local environmental organization supplied a legal opinion.
