Here are several items of note about agriculture in the Puget Sound region

Washington Farmland Trust protects Clark County farm

Completing its first project in Clark County, Washington Farmland Trust has helped protect the April Joy Farm located in Ridgefield near Vancouver.

The farm, founded in 2006, is a 24-acre organic, diversified crop-livestock operation and is located near the headwaters of Whipple Creek, which is a tributary of the Columbia River and an important salmon stream, according to the Trust’s website.

The Washington Farmland Trust partnered with Clark County’s Legacy Lands program, which uses county taxpayer dollars to protect open space.
