Work will begin soon on a meat processing facility that will help ranchers in Southwest Washington.

Officials hope the new facility will open in late 2027 and be able to process around 15 head of cattle per day. That new facility will operate out of a new building that will be constructed at the Tenino Ag Innovation Center.

The project, which will be 20,000 square feet located on an 8-acre site at the agriculture center, will see construction begin later in the summer.

“We all knew there was a gap in infrastructure for many years,” said Aslan Meade, director of strategic alliances for the Thurston County Economic Development Council. He was speaking at the Regional Ag Infrastructure Summit that took place Wednesday in Tenino.
